NEWSWORTHY NOTES
Welcome to new member Deborah Naybor.
April 16, 2005 is our big community service project "Celebrate Working Women". This event will be held at the Batavia City Centre and we will be spilling out into the mall area. We will be co-sponsored for the event by the YWCA. (Great news!!) We have received a lot of press on this event, but word of mouth always helps. We would like to see a large turnout for the day.
If you plan on attending on the 16 th please let Brenda Emens know. We are working on nametags for members for that day (Including years of service to the club) Please collect your name tag from our table, located under the stairway of the City Centre. If you have signed up to help that day, the signup sheet will also be located at the table. We will have several of our own members represented that day at spaces of there own and hope to have all members participate in some way.
We are suggesting using the main entrance to the City Centre or the mall entrance nearest Wendy's. The spaces for businesses will be in the corridor from the mall entrance nearest Wendy's down through to the Palace of Sweets. We have 40 spaces signed up for the day. The panel discussion and guest speaker will appear on the second floor of the City Centre. There is an elevator available to reach the second floor located near the stairs. The bathrooms are located on the second floor of the City Centre. The mall bathrooms will be available but, they may be busy due to dance photos taking place on the mall stage. Many of the spaces will have giveaways and door prizes to sign up for. I have heard about some of these and there are going to be a lot of nice giveaways.
The panel discussion is at 11:00 AM, with our guest speaker Kathy Balus, Founder and President of Pioneer Credit Recovery, Inc. appearing at 1:00 PM.

The November meeting will be held at Bohn's restaurant
in Batavia. There will be a turkey dinner with salad, potato, vegetable
and dessert at a cost of $13.00. The program for the evening will
be a "Pamper Yourself Night" presented by the professionals
from Oasis. After all our hard work on the auction we need a night
of relaxation.
Please remember that November is also membership
month. We encourage everyone to bring a perspective member.
For reservations please call Janice Ireland at
343-5095 by October 31st.

This meeting is our Annual Cookie Auction. Don't
let the name Cookie Auction fool you. We also auction pies, fudge,
cheesecakes, peanut brittle and more. Share your favorite recipes
with your fellow club members. This year we are encouraging members
to bring their goodies wrapped and ready to auction.
Prepaid wreaths and swags can be picked up from
Ann Marie Suttell that evening.
Please remember any remaining food donations and
your gifts for the Christmas family. Please have your gifts wrapped,
and tagged as to child the gift is for. If you did not select a
child to buy a gift for, a monetary donation to be used towards
items for the family is also a great idea. See Carol Houseknecht,
Sandi Clark or Dorothy Schlaggel at the December meeting.

NEWSWORTHY NOTES
The October Auction was a huge success -$4,500.
Please feel free to make any comments or suggestions on the auction.
We are always looking for ideas. Also a reminder to anyone that
does crafts, that this time of year with the cold weather approaching,
we would appreciate any handmade donations to the auction. These
were a big hit at the auction this year. Also with sales on Holiday
items it might be a good time to shop for bargains. These don't
have to be large items; small items to include in a basket are helpful.
We had several comments on how nice and full the baskets were.
